When Hoops decided to partner with family festival of sport GoFest, we had a feeling that we were in for something special. Over the May bank holiday weekend in Guildford, we found that we were right…
With 42 sports sharing their wares over the two days down in Surrey, Hoops were always going to be in our element at GoFest.
But what we couldn’t have prepared for was the amount of really great people we met.
From football coaches from the Chelsea Foundation and the great guys down at Surrey Storm Hockey Club, to the representatives of Guildford Thunder Korfball and Peter at VX International, everybody played their part in a really fun weekend.
Special thanks go to UK Flair, who we worked with in the GoTumble zone, and proved themselves excellent neighbours.
And with a sharp spike in downloads of the app this week, we think you may have liked us too…

Our job at GoFest was to get as many people talking about Hoops as possible – and one thing more than anything else helped to do just that.
It was close, too.
Going into Monday afternoon it was 4-4, with Andy notching victories in free running, VX, hockey and the obstacle course, while Cath came out on top in football, korfball, bowls and a balance test.
It all came down to the mile-long fun run – though neither had fun on the mind as they went in search of a famous victory…

Off to Manchester?
But before we knew it, GoFest South was over for another year.
Thankfully, we’ll be right there when the festival comes to Manchester for the first time on the 24 and 25th of June.
Not long to wait!
If you haven’t got tickets yet you can get them here.
Hopefully we’ll see you there!
If you need reminding what GoFest is, you can read our interview with founder Paul Farris here.
Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.
Just because Hoops is out, it doesn’t mean that our work ends. In fact, it’s only just beginning. So, if you want to keep up with how we’re driving the app forwards, click here to subscribe to our emails, and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Medium and even on Spotify. We’re everywhere, and hopefully we’ll be on your phone soon too!
