Here at Hoops Connect we’re expecting 2018 to be a massive year for the app, as we told you about at the beginning of the month. But it’s also going to be an important time for our many partners. So, we decided to draw together some of the exciting events we’re looking forward to this year!
If you’ve been following Hoops Connect for a while, you may remember the excellent time we had at GoFest in Guildford and Manchester last year.
The guys at GoFest run a festival that aligns perfectly with our own ethos, giving families the opportunity to discover as many new sports as possible, and providing the kind of quality coaching that ensures kids get hooked on sport.
And now we have exciting news. GoFest is returning in 2018, but not only that, they’ve added new mini-festivals in February and April, so we don’t have to wait until summer to do it all again!
The GoFest Mini events will take place at the Etihad sports campus in Manchester, with the first kicking off in just a couple of weeks on Saturday February 3rd.
If you have children who you’d like to discover new sports in a charming, exciting atmosphere – or if you want to get involved yourself – you can buy tickets through Hoops Connect now.
See you there!

We’re very lucky to be working with some fantastic partners, and none more so than Maias Netball.
Maias is the brainchild of England and Severn Stars player Laura Malcolm, who also represents Hoops Connect as an ambassador.
Laura told our blog that she started Maias to “give other people the opportunity to grow their netball skills and knowledge” through coaching and netball sessions.
And we’re very excited that Laura is using the app to offer exclusive free taster sessions.
Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities in Liverpool and Manchester in 2018!
After an exciting 2017, the guys over at Switch are pushing on with the development of their new sport, which combines football, basketball and volleyball.
Expect to see the team popping up at festivals and events across the country, as well as teaming up with Street Games to provide sessions around London.
And if you’re looking to give Switch a try, look no further than Hoops Connect!
You’ll find events on the app right now, with more to come later in the year.
All you have to do is download the app and get searching!

A new addition to the app, and this one comes courtesy of an old friend of Hoops Connect.
Ex-team member Cath Shanks moved on from the company in November to take up a position with Projekts Manchester, a skateboard park in the east of the city.
The guys at Projekt are running beginners sessions for girls.
And you can use Hoops Connect to book on for just £6!
VX is another young sport on the rise, and another young sport that we’re working hard to promote because it has so much potential.
So far, it’s only sessions in the VX heartland of Yorkshire that you can find on the app, but we’re hoping to get more events up around the country as soon as possible.
But founder Paul Hildreth has more reason to be excited – even more so than using our app!
The annual VX World Cup had a great reception in Italy in 2017. But in 2018 it’s heading further afield, with a trip to India.
We’ll be following along in August. Best of luck guys!
Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.
