Bigger and BETA Things

Since Chapter Three of this series, where we chronicle the growth of our tech company and try to teach a little of what we’ve learnt along the way, it’s been pedal-to-the-metal crazy.

We couldn’t write our #mondaymotivation posts if we didn’t follow them and work our asses off along with you guys, could we? But does our bite match our bark? We don’t want to just say we’ve worked hard; we would rather show you. So what have we learnt so far?

WE LEARNT: NEGATIVITY ISN’T ALWAYS NEGATIVE.

If you were one of the people who signed up with us through our website, you’ll know that we’ve released our iOS beta just over a week ago. Hearing that people loved it was incredibly humbling for us, but, as expected, you’ve also had some problems with it, believe it or not. Kind words make the growing more enjoyable, but your constructive criticism is what fuels that growth, so thank you for the feedback!

It can be hard to hear something you’ve worked on isn’t just instantly blowing everyone away, but, we’ve learnt to deal with it and do better with every update. This is something strive on and encourage others to as well. The failures one day could be your glittering success the next; we’re trying to make this our success story and you guys are a bit part of it.

If you’re signed up to our email list (Oh, you’re not? You can fix that here), then you’ll be the first to know when a fully functional and stable app is coming out for your platform; but rest assured it’ll be ready for you to work off those Christmas calories in the next few months!

WE LEARNT: YOU SHOULD TURN TO OTHERS FOR INSPIRATION.

In an alternate reality, a few of the Hoops team might have become professional basketball players. However, our love for creating and business eventually took over, but we still have fantasies of netting a winner on the buzzer as the crowd erupts in our name. It was great to meet someone who’s lived those fantasies then, as, after a coffee and geek-out about the latest NBA season, we’re happy to announce Manchester Giants’ Richard Bell as a brand ambassador!

This means you can look forward to some advice on shooting/passing/working out featuring him, seeing more of Hoops at your local basketball games, and even more that we have to keep under wraps for now.

WE LEARNT: SCRATCH BACKS, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT ITCHY.

To follow up with our love of grassroots football, we’re also happy to announce our sponsorship with Didsbury FC! The glamour and glitz of the Premier League is great, but you’ll find much more heart and soul in the lower leagues; and we loved being able to support a side like Didsbury FC in any way we can.

If you’re part of a team that you think would be a great fit for Hoops too, then let us know! We want to do everything we can to support grassroots sides like these, so make sure you hit us up to see how we can help.

Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.

Just because Hoops is out, it doesn’t mean that our work ends. In fact, it’s only just beginning. So, if you want to keep up with how we’re driving the app forwards, click here to subscribe to our emails, and follow us on TwitterFacebookInstagram, PinterestLinkedInMedium and even on Spotify. We’re everywhere, and hopefully we’ll be on your phone soon enough, too!
