Hoops has been in the works for a while, but it’s been just over a week since you all joined us for this journey, as detailed in our first post. We’re happy to report that Chapter 2 of our story isn’t a more upsetting or dismal sequel to the original Chapter 1, a la every Hollywood sequel around. In fact, this might be our most upbeat post yet!

Our coffee is hot, our music is funky, and we’re even closer to bringing Hoops to the masses.

Empire Strikes Back may be darker than A New Hope, but it’s also better; that’s the part we’re going for.

Over the weekend, Hoops broke historic ground; our first ever basketball game was organised with the app! The app’s founder, Jonas, was there to take part, and it was great to see such a good turnout, so we want to take a moment to thank everyone that turned up for this important moment in our start-up’s history.

We would also like to thank Luke Chandley, a massively talented writer based in Liverpool, that contacted us over the weekend, expressing interest in writing for Hoops. Safe to say, we jumped at the chance to have another ambitious and creative young mind join our ranks, and you can look forward to some top quality content courtesy of the man himself soon.

This should also serve as a reminder: if you like what you see, whether you’re a writer, coder, designer, anything; we would love to chat to you about any opportunities we might have open with the team — especially if you’re good with React Native. We’re always looking to expand, and if you think you’re the missing piece to this jigsaw we’re building, please let us know on our Twitter or Facebook, and you can even go old school and email us at jack@hoopsapp.co

This week you can look forward to more bluffer guides, in-depth looks at your favourite sportsmen and women, and maybe even a few things you won’t expect. If there’s anything you want to learn or read about, make sure you let us know, too.

Until then, remember:

Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.

Just because Hoops is out, it doesn’t mean that our work ends. In fact, it’s only just beginning. So, if you want to keep up with how we’re driving the app forwards, click here to subscribe to our emails, and follow us on TwitterFacebookInstagram, PinterestLinkedInMedium and even on Spotify. We’re everywhere, and hopefully we’ll be on your phone soon too!

Jump in.
