The Ball Out 3×3 basketball competition has come and gone for another year, but not before the players and organisers put on a stunning show at London’s Turnpike Lane. Hoops Connect were there for the whole thing once again…
Sun, music, baskets, dunks and a whole load of jerk chicken.
It’s fair to say that Ball Out 2017 was a success.
Over the course of the summer, teams have been scrapping for a place in the Ball Out final, and on Saturday that all culminated in one day of extraordinary basketball.
From the boys in the under-16s category – if you can call somebody who stands over 6ft a boy – through the women’s ballers to the elite men, the standard on show was awesome to watch.
But the best basketball of the weekend came from elite men champions Product Of My Environment, who fully deserved the crown, making the most of a frightening line-up including BBL veteran and British international Orlan Jackman.
The only thing to challenge POME’s dominance were the skills on show in the annual Ball Out dunking competition.
Just watch below to see what we’re talking about…

Hoops and Ball Out going forwards…
The first summer of our partnership with Ball Out has come to an end, but there’s plenty more where that came from. In fact, we’re just warming up.
Keep your eye out for small-scale sessions on Hoops courtesy of Ball Out founder Julius Joseph coming soon, hopefully ahead of us stepping up our collaboration next year.
That will mean more opportunities for you to tap into the Ball Out spirit, not to mention Julius’ expertise, just by downloading the app and signing up for sessions.
And of course we’ll be all of the heats and the finals of next year’s competition, cheering on the guys as they aim to turn Turnpike Lane into the biggest centre of street basketball in the country.
Exciting times lie ahead.
Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.
Just because Hoops is out, it doesn’t mean that our work ends. In fact, it’s only just beginning. So, if you want to keep up with how we’re driving the app forwards, click here to subscribe to our emails, and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Medium and even on Spotify. We’re everywhere, and hopefully we’ll be on your phone soon too!
