Hoops have been busy building partnerships all summer, but when those relationships come to fruition, we know that all the hard work has been worth it. Our day at the Ball Out 3×3 tournament on Saturday 15th July was one of those occasions…
When you’re getting up at 3am to make the drive from Manchester to London, you better have a good reason.
But ever since Ball Out founder Julius Joseph told us about how he’s “bringing something completely new and different” to basketball in the country back in May, we’ve been waiting eagerly for his tournament to start.
Ball Out hosts an International Basketball Federation (FIBA)-regulated 3×3 competition, the winners of which progress to FIBA’s World Tour, alongside coaching youngsters in the London boroughs.
And in one day in Turnpike Lane, Hoops saw just his successful Joseph’s programme has become.
The standards on show from all players, regardless of age or gender, was off the chain all day.
But not just that, the love for the game from all involved was great to see – and exactly what we here at Hoops want to be involved in.
And Ball Out is something we’ll be staying involved in for a long time to come, not to mention a few new partnerships we made on the day.
Next up the Ball Out crew will be heading to Wolverhampton for the final qualifiers, before it’s back to Turnpike Lane for the finals, where we’ll be putting in an appearance once more too.
Hoops is now available in app stores, so you can use us to find opportunities for any sport or fitness activity you can think of. Simply click here to download the app for Android, and here for iOS – or search for Hoops Connect.
Just because Hoops is out, it doesn’t mean that our work ends. In fact, it’s only just beginning. So, if you want to keep up with how we’re driving the app forwards, click here to subscribe to our emails, and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Medium and even on Spotify.
